Let's Talk Nixodine™

What is Nixodine™?

Simply put, Nixodine™ is what makes SHGR Snuff what it is. It's a non-nicotine compound designed to provide a nicotine-like experience without tobacco or nicotine.

What is the advantage of Nixodine™?

The Experience, Without the Nicotine: Get the satisfying experience you want with zero nicotine and zero tobacco.

Tested and Trusted: We've done extensive laboratory and independent testing. Studies conducted to date have shown no evidence of mutagenicity or carcinogenic activity under the conditions tested.

Nixodine™ has undergone extensive testing over the last two years, with additional studies planned. Testing has included both in vitro and in vivo toxicity studies and evaluation of its activity at specific nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs).

Laboratory receptor studies found differences between Nixodine™ and nicotine in their activity at certain nAChRs, including α6-containing receptors associated in scientific literature with nicotine dependence. These studies evaluated Nixodine™ and nicotine across specific receptor subtypes, including α4β2, α3β4 and α6/3/β2β3.

Under the conditions evaluated, Nixodine™ demonstrated activity similar to nicotine at certain receptor subtypes while demonstrating lower activity at the α6-containing receptor subtype evaluated. Because α6-containing nicotinic receptors have been associated with nicotine dependence, we believe these findings warrant continued research.

Quality You Can Count On: Nixodine™ is manufactured in the United States under controlled manufacturing standards.

Nixodine™ is produced through a proprietary process involving modifications of nicotinic acids (B vitamins). It is manufactured in an FDA-registered facility in the United States that is cGMP compliant and ISO 9001 certified. No tobacco or tobacco-derived ingredients are used in the manufacturing process.

How was Nixodine™ developed?

Let's step back to the early 1980s. Big Tobacco was under intense pressure as the health consequences of smoking became impossible to ignore. With nicotine itself facing increasing scrutiny, researchers began looking at an interesting question: what if there were alternatives to nicotine?

Scientists explored a number of nicotine analogs and related compounds capable of interacting with the same nicotinic acetylcholine receptors targeted by nicotine. Some showed promising pharmacological activity, but nicotine was never banned and the commercial urgency behind finding an alternative largely disappeared. Much of that research never made its way into products consumers would actually see.

And that's where the story gets interesting.

Fast-forward several decades. Modern analytical chemistry and receptor testing gave researchers much better tools to take another look at this largely forgotten area of science. We went back through that research, evaluated promising compounds and ultimately identified Nixodine™ for further development.

But finding an interesting molecule wasn't enough for us. Nixodine™ underwent additional laboratory testing to evaluate its toxicity and activity at specific nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. The results gave us the confidence to continue developing it as the active ingredient we wanted for SHGR Snuff.

So, in a sense, Nixodine™ has roots in a scientific question researchers were asking decades ago—but with modern testing, modern manufacturing and a very different purpose.

What we have today is a product designed for adults seeking a tobacco-free, nicotine-free alternative that delivers a satisfying recreational experience without the need for vapes or oral pouches.

α4β2

Nicotinic α4β2 receptors have a high affinity for nicotine and account for a substantial portion of nicotine binding in brain tissue.
